Ocala North RV Park; Reddick, FL
- Date: November 21, 2007
- Length of stay: Zero nights
This Thanksgiving break my family and I had planned to camp here for four nights. Our choices of where to camp were limited because apparently it is a popular week to camp in Florida (who knew?) plus we have the dog restrictions to consider. Given the circumstances we were still excited about the prospect of camping again, this is our first trip since the summer trek. It was a beautiful drive through the pristine horse farms that make Ocala famous. However, upon arrival we were less than enthused. The campground is more like a retirement community, filled with those that live there full time. The park is full of RVs that have their wheels covered and the spaces could not have been more than 15 feet wide. It felt very Closter phobic plus given the remoteness of the park there really is not a lot to do there. This is not what we consider camping. Much to the dismay of our kids, we chose to cancel the reservation and return to our prior destination until we could figure out our next step. For future reference, we will not be camping anywhere where the term 'RV Park' is used in the title.
