Campsite Review

Americamps; Ashland, VA

  • Date:  June 21, 2007; June 29, 2008
  • Length of stay:  One night each

This was the perfect one night stay on a long road trip.  We had a big travel day and were looking for a quick place to stop for the night.  The heavens parted and we saw the sign on Rte 95.  They are easy on/easy off exit 89.  Ashland is just north of Richmond.  They have a great playground and accept dogs.  There isn't a whole lot of room for the dogs, but for one night they did just fine.  Roads are paved/gravel and most sites have full hookup and are shaded.  They also have a few tent sites.  This isn't the kind of place to vacation but it was perfect for our purposes.  They accept Good Sam.  Our total bill was $30.25 and we would definitely stay there again when passing through town.

We stayed here again on our way north on our 2008 summer camping trip.  Again, it was exactly what we needed, passing through town for one night.  Except this time we learned that the office closes at 6 pm.  We just made it.
